Vintage Mineral Water Bowl patch handstitched onto a burgundy OTTO-brand foam trucker hat.
What started as the local Excelsior Springs Quarterback Club's idea in 1948, the Mineral Water Bowl ran, in fits and starts, for over 70 years in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Its first incarnation was a high school postseason game, killed off by the state athletic association after just a few years. A small-college revival in 1954 drew crowds up to 7,000 before playoff expansion made quality opponents scarce, ending that era in 1975. The bowl returned again in 1992, first as an NJCAA game and then, from 2000 onward, as an NCAA Division II contest matching conference runners-up from the MIAA and NSIC. The 2019 game was its last. COVID cancelled 2020, a 2021 revival fell through, and in 2022 organizers finally called it quits for good, citing a lack of sponsors. Across three distinct eras spanning over 70 years, the Mineral Water Bowl remained a testament to a small Missouri town's stubborn love of football.

Care & Maintenance
To care for your hat, spot-clean gently with cool water and a mild soap (avoid soaking the foam front or putting it in the washing machine). Reshape and air-dry. Store it brim-up to help it keep its structure.
If the foam gets dented or bends, a handheld steamer works great to relax it back into shape — just steam lightly and let it cool.
